Accessory makers hype dangers of iPad overheating

Amanda Crawford Designs says its iBuddy draws heat away from the iPad and other tablets. Is the new iPad too hot to handle? No, but that hasn't stopped some accessory makers from promoting products designed to address the heat issue while also raising some dubious health risks. For example, Amanda Crawford Designs says it's created an iPad holder called the iBuddy "to eliminate the threat of skin burn from extensive use of Apple's iPad 3." Early reviews and tests of the new iPad have shown it can definitely heat up in certain situations. The increased heat, up to 116 degrees Fahrenheit, in one section of the iPad, happens after extended use of a processor-intensive applications, such as playing a video game for longer than 45 minutes.
This is far from the first time portable computers have overheated. A few years ago, several leading PC manufacturers had to recall their notebooks after some units were reported to have caught fire and even exploded. But there has been nothing close to those kind of reports related to the new iPad, which Apple has said operates within "the thermal limits" is set for the device. For men, shirts and trousers never go out of fashion. But for women, new trends appear every now and then. And it doesn't cost much to keep abreast of the latest Sexy Adult Costumes trends. If you buy apparel from wholesale distributors of fashion clothes online you will get the latest clothes at great prices. Consumer Reports tests of the iPad echoed other sites with its conclusion that the new iPad is warmer in its hottest spot than the iPad 2 but "didn't find those temperatures to be a cause for concern. In many chain department stores, you can find style fashions. They are also found in specialty boutiques. However, there is no tool better than the Internet to access the full array of Teddies & Sexy Clubwear available. Direct from key locations all through Asia, many high quality portal sites offer a broad range of clothing items." Dr. Jeffery DeWeese, who works at the Bothin Burn Unit at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco told Wired last month that even a temperature of 116 degrees "shouldn't be of any concern" for the average adult, and that the temperature "isn't going to burn anyone on contact."Meanwhile, Amanda Crawford Designs also warns in its release that extended use of the iPad, or another electronic device, in a man's lap could cause a lower sperm count.
"For men, it has been medically proven by the State University of New York at Stony Brook that extreme heat from devices held in a man's lap lowers sperm count and increases infertility risks," a release from the company states, citing a 2004 article in Medical News Today as its source. But that article specifically referred to a study of laptop computers which typically generate more heat than tablets.Low batteries can affect the functionality of laptop keyboards via some indirect circumstances, and wireless structural steel. For laptops, if you are running a full-screen application on relatively low battery, when the low battery warnings pop up you may not see them; at the same time, the keyboard may become unresponsive. The article warns that laptops can reach internal operating temperatures of over 70 degrees Celsius (158 degrees Fahrenheit), which is far more than the iPad. It's also worth noting that today's laptops run cooler than models back in 2004 did.
