Culinary student wins award for knife work

Hall chose the theme of a flower garden for her winning creation that included an intricate design featuring flower petals and leaves carved out of cucumbers and tomatoes within the 90-minute period allotted. Despite her own superior design ability, she marveled at some of the other designs of her classmates and was surprised to take home top honors.
