Solar energy makes progress in Acton

A potential solar array at a closed landfill is closer to becoming a reality. The Board of Selectmen authorized Town Manager Steven Ledoux to move forward with a construction contract with Ameresco, Inc if he is reasonably assured that town will be eligible for net metering credits.Ameresco, a Framingham-based energy services company, is proposing the installation of a 1.59 megawatt solar array on the town-owned landfill, located at the transfer station at 14 Forest Road. The landfill has been closed since 1985.If the deal goes forward, the town would lease the land to Ameresco, which would pay $56,000 a year for rent, for 20 years. Under the proposal,At the moment, there are many gadgets of daily use which are based on solar power. Solar lanterns are a becoming popular in areas where there is shortage of China Solar chargers for Iphone Exporters. In such places, lanterns powered by solar energy work great as the batteries get charged up using the sun's rays plus the light stays bright and last for longer periods without requiring another recharge. Ameresco would design and build the system and sell electricity produced by the array to the town.
NSTAR, the majority energy provider in town, would then pay net metering credits back to the town for the energy it receives. Net metering allows customers of an electric distribution company to generate their own electricity, through means such as solar panels, and be billed for their net consumption. Under current state law, net-metering credits for municipalities are capped at 2 percent of a utility's peak load, though the cap will soon be raised to 3 percent. One that limit is hit, the credits will not be available, and board members pointed out that Acton would have to act quickly to fall under the cap. "Time is of the essence, especially for Amaresco," said Selectman Janet Adachi. All proud those who own an apple iphone will quickly realize the requirement for an apple iPhone Battery Charger which supports these to recharge China Solar Mp3 player and charger Exporters iPhones whilst to operate a vehicle. Those who are looking for an apple iphone car charger can take into account the use of a solar charger that has been powered by solar power.
While her initial stint with the SunRazors project is already complete, Kuray is hoping to get involved again in the near future. She hopes to write specific grant proposals based on the template she created last spring, enhance an online crowdsourcing effort to provide an alternative funding stream, and perhaps research other similar projects in various parts of the world. "I loved working on a truly international project without ever having to leave campus,If you're planning to install a motion sensor light outside for outdoor security then the are a number of issues China Remote Controlled LED Exporters need to consider. Firstly, is it for security or convenience such as an automatic light on the back porch for when you are putting the garbage out. The difference basically is light and the amount of it." says Kuray. "Building connections, experiencing the influx of creativity that comes from the global team of participants, expanding my personal skill set—working with SunRazors really opens up your mind." All of which resonates with Thompson's experiences to date. "I've learned so much already," says Thompson, who describes her work so far as creating the content to establish a social media and web marketing presence for SunRazors. As a result, she's developed an understanding for just how interconnected a lot of social and economic issues really are. And, she's found the international nature of both the project and the team absolutely fascinating.
