Holiday lights to bring new glow to Main Street Duncan

For the first time in the six years since Tammy Johnson took her position as director of Main Street Duncan, they are getting something new.Just Friday, Main Street got in $2,200 worth of brand new Christmas lights for the upcoming holiday season. Funds raised from the Main Street Banquet cake auction, as well as those made from selling Main Street storage items paid for the items."We had some items that weren't being used, so we offered to sell them to Main Street members at great prices," Johnson said. The lights will begin to be put up next week and are they are commercial grade LED raspberry lights. Johnson said that Main Street Board President Micah Harper picked them out during a lighting seminar and she hadn't even ever seen them as of Friday."They're going to be as much a surprise to me as anyone else," she said. "(Harper) said ‘Main Street' is going to be visible from space this year."What's even more it that there was enough money left over to purchase three new cigarette receptacles. Johnson said that many Main Street businesses use coffee cans but now they will have something much nicer.
"It's exciting when you get new and I can't even remember us getting anything new," she said.Main Street's new lights will be wrapped around the poles and will take about two weeks to completely get put up. Johnson said she hopes to have an official lighting ceremony during Main Street's Holiday Stroll on Nov. 17.Getting the new lights and providing some of the Main Street businesses with strings of lights from their storage to put in the windows has generated more excitement downtown for the holidays."We're very happy to be able to get them and can't wait for the public to see them," she said. So, when you're shopping around for your new Military goggles, you definitely have some important decisions to make! However, with this big style-conscious compromise, you can likely take solace in the fact that you will most likely stay with this material, and it works the best for you! Of course, if you're really lucky, you can just get away with just about any glasses frame style! "We want people to come downtown to look at lights, we want it to be something to see this Christmas."
For those who would like a glimpse at the Haunted Basement but think it might be too frightening,There are many people who love and wish to keep them in good appearance all the time. For that they plant wonderful looking flowers, keep the Solar Camping light and tidy all the time, create fountains and stylish looking spots in the garden where required. Similarly many people make cages for keeping birds, parrots and pets in those cages which at times make it look amusing. the Soap Factory also offers "'Fraidy Cat Tours" on Oct. 21 and Oct. 28. from 10 a.m. to noon. These tours feature a lights-on look at the production hosted by some of the actors and producers."Because we're an arts organization we feel it's important that everyone should have access to the project," said Heywood. "A lot of people don't want to really fully engage with something as disturbing as the project."
Another wrinkle that makes the Haunted Basement experience potentially even more disturbing: some think the building is haunted. Heywood doesn't believe in ghosts, but admits the building's past as an actual soap factory is rather gruesome. "This was a place where animals were broken down into their constituent parts and turned into soap," he said. "When we were given the building in 1995 by Pillsbury, the cleanout, the amount of muck and dirt and bones and fat and disgusting stuff that had to be cleaned out. There is a long tradition of disgust in this building. And disgust is an interesting emotion,Solar power Lighting are also important because it allows you to store the LED lamp produced by your panel sections for later use, even when the Sun is not glowing. Very similar to the solar sections themselves, the battery isn't cheap but the power benefits really add up. Typically, property owners who set up a solar system see a revenue in money stored on houses in as little as three decades or as many as ten years. and it's one of the emotions we're interesting in examining in the Haunted Basement."
