SmartShield overwhelmed by Solar Power UK response
Loughborough-based SmartGen Ltd has revealed that it was overwhelmed by the UK industry's response to its SmartShield system.SmartShield is a long lasting glass protection suitable for PV modules that is able to increase light transmission of solar panels, boosting the annual yield by up to 9.8 percent. SmartGen is keen to stress that SmartShield's claimed efficiency gains are not just sales rhetoric, but hard figures based on a variety of test cases across the UK.The SmartShield is a polymeric resin that works by increasing the light transmission of solar panels. To offer merely one example, there are several instances where motion detector lights can be used indoors. These LED lamp sources can be quite affordable and will be energy efficient. There is certainly even the 'cool' factor of walking right into a space, storage area, cellar, etc and also the lights simply turn off as soon as you leave. How awesome is that! The bottom of the laptop gets heated and it is necessary to maintain a proper temperature of the China Cleaning Kit manufacturers, otherwise the internal peripherals of the device might get affected. So, we also need to ensure that the device is not resting upon bed or clothes as it can not help the device to cool down automatically. There are different sites but in Australia and selection of the suitable one make much difference. Unlike traditional coatings, SmartShield becomes part of the glass – preventing any peels, cracks or flakes from appearing. The polymeric resin prevents contaminants from bonding onto the glass creating a 'non stick' surface and limits further damage and degradation of the glass caused by corrosion and chemical attack.
The treatment was recently applied to the solar array that was installed at the Olympics press centre. Figures just released from an independent test carried out by Romag on their own production plant in the North East of England, show a 9.8 percent increase in yield on a treated array, compared to an identical adjacent array without a treatment.Managing Director, Julian Michalski, spoke of his delight at the UK's reaction to SmartShield: "During the Solar Power UK exhibition, we were overwhelmed by the reaction to SmartShield. The interest and orders that we have had from the show have been fantastic."Everyone we talked to was positive about it, especially installers and distributors. The Solar Power UK exhibition 2012 was a great success for us, we have already booked for 2013!"
However, a team of researchers from the United Kingdom, Australia and China, as well physicists from North Carolina State University, took a closer look at the physical structure of polymer solar cells and found that some mixing might not be a bad thing.According to NC State physicist Harald Ade, some mixing is already inherent in the production of these types of solar cells, and the team wanted to see what effect this had on the solar cells."When you manufacture the cell, the relative rate of evaporation of the solvents and additives determines how the active layer forms and the donor and acceptor mix. Ideally,Solar powered rechargeable Remote control light are the most straightforward to fit and very handy. Low on power, won't blind you and extremely easy to install. Look at battery powered LEDs for indoors, outhouses, etc.If you are considering using LED lights for outdoor security then look for on with plenty of light. LED's are low power but also low light so get one with 40, 50 or even 80 LED's.However, the best for security is a mains wired halogen. you want the solvent to evaporate slowly enough so that the materials have time to separate – otherwise the layers 'gum up' and lower the cell's efficiency," he explained."We utilized an additive that slowed evaporation. This controlled the mixing and domain size of the active layer, and the portions that mixed were small."
