Dope performs at the Machine Shop in Flint

Industrial metal band Dope performed at the Machine Shop Concert Lounge in Flint, MI on Thursday night. They performed with a fun local hard rock band out of Detroit, called Ballz Deluxe, and Florida metal heads Nonpoint. The Machine Shop is a great rock'n'roll-biker themed venue, and one of the best intimate lounges to see a live show. The venue was packed early, as there is a large Dope fan base here. Fans were up front early, holding their spot throughout the other bands performances. There were dozens of Dope shirts in the crowd. Dope always has some killer merch, and it was easy to spot the gear among the true fans.Nonpoint opened the show, and got our blood pumping. These guys are constantly touring and play Machine Shop quite often. Local boys Ballz Deluxe stirred the crowd, and things got a bit rowdy with some drink throwing. Everyones excitement was building and the crowd was eager for the Dope show.
Dope came out and things immediately were rocking. This venue is known for good shows, and it was easy to see it was happening again. As the show went on, Edsel joked some more, but said he really appreciates everyone for coming. He said its always a great time at the Machine Shop, with that great sandwich place next door. He recommended that we all just get drunk and stoned, and went into their cult classic hit, "Die Mother F***er Die". A crazy pit erupted during this song, as fans chanted along to the lyrics. Edsel was very talkative at this show, and even laughed as he told us about the time they opened for Slayer, and a circle pit formed with this cover song, "You Spin Me Round Round (like a record)", by the English new wave band Dead or Alive. The band then played the song, which is so hard core compared to the original.
