Portland Sustainability Group says it has plans to generate its own sustainable income by supplying solar power to local businesses. The group will use seed funding to buy a system to operate from its headquarters for a year, to determine the value of the energy it produces. The group's convener, Peter Reefman, says it will then calculate how much to charge local businesses to supply the energy to them."The system will obviously generate an amount of electricity over the year and as long it's actually getting pumped into a business that's using it in real time, we can really accurately predict how much value that energy is worth, " he said."As long as it's not interacting with the grid and that host business then pays the sustainability group the value of that energy."
Tonga's first solar farm began operation this week on August 20, and customers should see a reduction in the price of electricity on their first power bill in September. In the spring and fall, make sure that solar panels are clear of falling leaves or other blowing debris. China Portable Wholesalers should also take care when raking or leaf blowers do not damage any solar lights or solar panels. Many people take solar accent lights in during fall clean-up and place them back outside during the spring, especially if they hire other people to do yard work. The solar farm "Maama Mai" or "Let there be light" was electronically switched on by Lord Fakafanua at the Popua Power station in 'Anana on Monday, a month after it was dedicated by HM King Tupou VI on July 24.John van Brink the Chief Executive of the Tonga Power said today that the facility was operating better than expected. He said the price decreased by 5.29 seniti to 85.27 seniti per kilowatt, Tonga's current electricity price that took effect on August 1 and customers would see this reduction in their first power bill in September.
John said the facility was expected to produce up to 25 percent load of Tongatapu's demand during the low-loaded weekend daytime periods, and four percent reduction in energy generated using diesel.Attending the switching on of the solalr plant was Tonga Power Chairman Carl Sanft, Director Sitiveni Finau with management team and Popua generation staff. The construction of the solar farm was funded with NZ$7.9 million or TOP$12 million from the New Zealand Government to help Tonga beat the high cost of imported diesel.Solar Street Light has great prospective as a power resource for various types of personal houses and companies. Many China Lighting Africa Suppliers know this fact that getting power from the sun is a fresh, environmental-friendly way to produce power. But many individuals don't know about solar, however, is that the power Lighting is affordable for many homeowners.Designed for China Solar laptop charger Offers on the move, the Generator provides up to 45 minutes of laptop runtime for every hour in the sun. It will power most modern laptops, tablets, professional digital cameras, and smart-phones. Even when solar charging is not an option, the internal battery holds enough power to more than double the runtime on many laptops and can also be re-charged from the included wall charger. It has the capacity to generate 1,880 megawatt hours of electricity a year, or about 4 percent of Tongatapu's total electricity demand. It is also expected to reduce Tonga's annual diesel consumption by 470,000 litres.Maamai Mai is the largest solar farm in the Pacific region, constructed by Meridian Energy Ltd. a leading developer of renewable energy in New Zealand.
